Since back-to-school shopping has officially begun in my house, I wanted to highlight a few great eco-friendly brands that I’ll definitely use this year. I’ve been eyeing these companies for a while, but I finally pulled the trigger, and I’m so glad.

The first brand that I want to rave about is Stasher Bag. I absolutely love this company because it’s well-rounded. This company was founded in 2015 by a mom named Kat, who was looking for an alternative to single-use products. When she realized there wasn’t much on the market, she decided to take matters into her own hands. She produced the world’s first patented, self-sealing platinum silicone storage bag. I love these bags because they are functional, beautiful, and can be reused repeatedly. This company offers many different sizes and colors. They are dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe, and they start as low as $10. You can find Stasher Bags at Stasher bag.com, Kohls, Amazon, Macy’s, and Thrive Market. I plan on using my Stasher Bags for sandwiches and snacks. I’m so excited to finally get rid of all my plastic and join the “plastic-free movement.”

The next company that I’ve been eyeing is Lunch Bots. This company was also started by a mom. In 2008, the founder was concerned about chemicals in plastic affecting the health of her two boys. She was also troubled by the impact of disposable food packaging on our environment, especially our oceans. So, she designed two reusable, stainless-steel containers and started selling them at school fairs, online, and in local natural food stores. They quickly sold out. Ten years later, her product line has expanded. What I like most about this company their values align with my values. When I shop for my girls, I look for non-toxic products, and they are committed to using all premium materials, never compromising quality. Reasons I love Lunch Bots: They’re unbreakable and eco-friendly, They’ll last a lifetime, they’re dishwasher-safe, simple to pack, and you’ll create zero waste. They offer different sized bento boxes, and they sell thermoses, dip containers, and salad bowls. You can find these gems on their website, Target, and Amazon. Pricing is around $20. In the past, I’ve tried plastic lunch boxes for my kids. Although they worked great over time, they harbored mold, and one cracked from being dropped by my seven-year-old. I can’t wait to switch to stainless steel, and hopefully, we’ll have different results!

This next company has become so popular in the last few years, but I totally understand why. For the past three years, now we’ve been collecting Hydro Flasks. My daughter first introduced them to us because she found them through watching Tick Toc*. At first, I rolled my eyes because I hate that kids these days are so impressionable, but she requested them for Christmas, so I snagged her one. When I first went on the hunt for them, I thought the price point was rather expensive. So, I searched a few websites and found two for $25 each. At that point, I was so used to buying Target water bottles and had never spent over $10-$15 for one, so this was new to me. They start at $29.95 but are worth it because they are indestructible, unlike the big box retailers. You defiantly pay for what you get. In the three years of using Hydro Flasks, we’ve collected six. We currently still have those flasks and use them every day. The only thing that has happened to one of them is it was dropped and has a small dent. You can find Hydro Flasks in so many different online stores. I like to buy mine directly from the company so that I can have my pick from all of the colors. I also have gotten a few deals from Dick’s Sporting Goods. I love this company because they offer a lifetime warranty, they use quality stainless steel for the inside, and their temperature control is amazing. Your drink will definitely stay cold or hot if that’s your thing. This brand offers many shapes, sizes, colors, and simplicity. Overall, I love this brand and what it represents. To date, they’ve supported more than 122 nonprofits and donated over $1.9 million with the charitable program they created to benefit public green spaces. How amazing!

I hope this helped you a little, and let’s make this school year the best one yet! Good luck!
